Badaling Great Wall opening hours by season
There are two regular seasons. The high season runs from 1 April to 31 October, and the low season from 1 November to 31 March. The change comes on 1 November, not at the end of the National Day holidays. The wall is open every day in both seasons, with no regular weekly closing day.
Book your Badaling Great Wall tickets first, then plan the day around the times below. The hours shown here are the regular schedule. Last entry and closing time are separate things, so do not treat them as the same.

For most visitors the right plan is to arrive at opening time, not at last entry. You then have the full day on the wall. How long you can stay after the last entry is not fixed, so do not count on a long visit if you arrive late.

Night opening, weather and other changes
What can shift the schedule.
Night program
In 2026 the main night program ran from 30 April to 6 October, around the towers N4 to S4, with a separate evening ticket. A special evening opening ran from 16 to 22 February 2026, from 18:00 to 21:00 between S4 and N4. Outside these windows, do not count on evening access. Check whether an evening program is announced for your dates.
Heavy rain and storms
The wall can close at short notice in severe weather. In August 2026 heavy rain closed Badaling from 12 August, and tickets already bought could be refunded in full through the original channel. Do not wait at slopes or roads if a warning is issued.
Cable car hours
The cable car has its own hours, which differ from the wall. While the North line is closed for maintenance, the South line runs. Details are on the Badaling cable car page.
Museum
The Great Wall museum near the wall has its own times and entry rules, separate from the wall. Check them before you plan the visit.
Mondays
Many museums in Beijing close on Mondays. The Badaling wall is open on Mondays too, so do not carry that rule over. For the museum, check the current times.
Hours of the day
Arriving at opening time gives you the most daylight on the wall. In winter the last entry comes at 16:00, so the usable afternoon is short, and a start after midday leaves little time to walk.

What time does Badaling open?
The wall opens at 06:30 from 1 April to 31 October and at 07:30 from 1 November to 31 March.
What time is the last entry?
Last entry is 16:30 in summer and 16:00 in winter, and closing comes later. Last entry is not the same as closing, so arrive well before it.
Is the Great Wall at Badaling closed on Mondays?
No. The wall is open every day in both seasons. Closing rules for museums do not apply to it.
Can I visit Badaling at night?
Only when an evening program is offered. The main 2026 program ran from 30 April to 6 October. Check whether there is one for your dates.
